Lumigon is a Copenhagen, Denmark based tech company that has been around since 2009. They have released 4 phones since then, the T1, T1HD, T2, and now the T3. They aim to use Scandinavian design aspects with their devices; “minimalism, simplicity, and solidness”. They also run in the top price range, even higher than many more well-known flagships such as Samsung and LG.
Their latest release the T3 comes in black, white, and orange, including a 24 karat gold option, and diamond accented option. They will cost between $925 and $1200, depending upon how bling you want yours. If your spoiled on large screen phones, this phone may not be your thing, as it comes in at 4.8 inches, probably having to do with the simplicity, minimalism factor they aim for. It has a decent spec sheet, with a HelioX10 processor, 3GB of ram and 128 GB of internal storage. The two front cameras are a 13MP main shooter and a 4MP night vision shooter. The night vision camera uses IR light that is invisible to the naked eye, really some pretty cool stuff for a smartphone, and the first phone yet to sport one. The selfie cam is 5MP. Video is 4k with 120 fps slow motion, something you don’t see on all phones, even in 2017. All of this is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
The body is made of marine grade stainless steel, said to be popular with boat frames. It is dust and water resistant, weighing in at 145 g. Not a bad weight, probably partly due to the smaller size of the phone. It comes with a fingerprint sensor built into the home button, and runs Android 6.0. No word as of yet if it will be getting Nougat 7.0.
This phone may be a bit small for our liking, but it definetely makes up for it in style and quality. It also sports some solid hardware. There is no doubt that this is a great looking phone and probably would serve most well… however, is it worth the high asking price, that is up for debate. You can purchase other flagships with better hardware all over, for a lower price. Our guess would be that you are paying extra for the night vision camera and the stainless-steel body, possibly a fair trade off. How often you would find a good reason to use night vision other than to play funny pranks on your roommate, also up for debate.
